Beauty and the Beast: Air Purifiers Part III

Beauty and the Beast?

These 2 air purifiers are at opposite ends of the spectrum: the Honeywell HPA300 is a utilitarian powerhouse (CADR 300, uses 4 filters, $215), while the BlueAir 203 (CADR 155, $329) is truly the fairest of them all – solidly built, its svelte Swedish design justifies its “most expensive” rating of my foursome of air purifiers.

Swedish design pleases the eye, but how well does it perform?

Maybe stylish fancy will suit your needs, especially if you’re gonna need 2 or more of these units. Like a new piece of furniture, these air purifiers are gonna be quite prominent in your living room, kitchen and bedroom.

Before my wife wakes up I’m planning to rearrange the 4 units in my testing sample. The Honeywell is going out into the kitchen-living room, where it’s higher CADR numbers will better match the size of the room. The lovely BlueAir unit will look great in my office. See if she notices…
